All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:18-20
Did you know that we were created to enjoy God? God isn’t some dictator who is so full of Himself that He insists that we follow Him simply because He gets a kick out of it. No, God as our Creator, knows that our true fulfillment can only be found in Him. In fact, God is the only one who can truly say “it is all about me” and not be selfish.
The Project is really beginning to take shape. Our builder, Wilbroad, has been plastering the inside of the first children’s house. The project workers are finishing up the leveling around the orange trees. Each and every day finds the Project coming together more and more.
Even the people that I talk to in the village say how surprised they are at the progress we are making. There are times when it doesn’t feel like we are moving very fast, but when I step back and look at Project Samuel, I can’t help but wonder how God does what he does.

As I recently returned to Project Samuel, I was greeted by all the workers, excited that I had returned with news from North America. The Project has come a long way since I’ve been gone. The guys have worked very long and hard to ensure that the oranges and maize field have been kept up. It felt great to be back home and everyday it feels more and more like my home away from home. Although it is hard sometimes, being away from friends and family in the United States, I know that my life serves a greater purpose. When it gets tough, God is my one true comfort.
Recently a team from Relationships for Christ Ministries traveled to Managua, Nicaragua to work with Pastor Bismarck Quinto and the congregation of La Vid Veradera to train leaders, hold evangelistic services, and minister aid to the families who are unfortunate enough to have to live at the city landfill.
Here on site at Project Samuel, things are going well. The project is progressing rapidly as the workers and I prepare for our first garden plot of more than 5 acres, continue work on the buildings and complete the installation of the power lines. But construction is not the only thing we are focusing on here at the project. In addition to construction, our goal is to reach out into the community and minister to the people of Kapopo on a daily basis.
Every Wednesday we hold a Bible Study at the Project Samuel Mission’s House. Through this Bible Study, we are able to establish new relationships with the community, as well as minister to those who are in spiritual need. Believe it or not, people here in Zambia go through many of the same problems that we face in the United States, problems with work, marriage, children, and death just to mention a few. They, just like us, need a little encouragement or wisdom from time to time to see them through their situations, and that is where Project Samuel comes in, as we open our doors to those in need.
