Recently a team from Relationships for Christ Ministries traveled to Managua, Nicaragua to work with Pastor Bismarck Quinto and the congregation of La Vid Veradera to train leaders, hold evangelistic services, and minister aid to the families who are unfortunate enough to have to live at the city landfill.
Traveling with RFC President Timothy Vowell, was Dr. Phillip Brassfield of Destiny Ministries, videographer Dan Lovett, interpreter Alfred Gonzalez and a youth group from Faith Family Fellowship. The youth team consisted of Brenden Vowell, Jeremy Gonzalez, Natalie Gonzalez, Gabby Cerda, and youth chaperone Mellisa Gonzalez.
While in Managua the Missions Team preached in nightly revival services where the altars were filled with men, women and children seeking God and responding to the call to revival. In addition to the revival services, the team held leadership training sessions for developing young leaders and participated in two television interviews about the work in Nicaragua. Dr. Phillip Brassfield and Pastor Timothy were able to share with the television audience their desire to see ministries work together to benefit the people of Nicaragua.
At the city landfill, the team was able to pray with many of the desperately poor families who live off the garbage at the dump. The RFC team distributed food and bibles giving hope and assistance to these struggling families. Relationships for Christ Ministries in cooperation with Destiny Ministries and Complete In Christ Church of Searcy, Arkansas is sending a full size bus to Nicaragua to be used in transporting these at risk families out of the garbage dump for assistance and job training. Pastor Quinto of La Vid Veradera is taking a leadership role in finding creative ways to offer help in rehabilitating the men and women of the dump. The bus donated by Complete In Christ will enable the leadership team of La Vid Veradera offer more effective help to those who need it the most.
