In The Field In Zambia Africa

Here on site at Project Samuel, things are going well.  The project is progressing rapidly as the workers and I prepare for our first garden plot of more than 5 acres, continue work on the buildings and complete the installation of the power lines.   But construction is not the only thing we are focusing on here at the project.  In addition to construction, our goal is to reach out into the community and minister to the people of Kapopo on a daily basis.

Every Wednesday we hold a Bible Study at the Project Samuel Mission’s House.  Through this Bible Study, we are able to establish new relationships with the community, as well as minister to those who are in spiritual need.   Believe it or not, people here in Zambia go through many of the same problems that we face in the United States, problems with work, marriage, children, and death just to mention a few.  They, just like us, need a little encouragement or wisdom from time to time to see them through their situations, and that is where Project Samuel comes in, as we open our doors to those in need.

During our Bible Studies the guys working at the project open up and share some of the burdens they carry as we apply the Word of God to our lives.  I can’t wait till we get the roof on the Destiny Vision Center so we can begin to hold worship services and reach even more with the encouraging message of Jesus Christ.

I love to tell of how Project Samuel is changing lives.  Recently, I wrote an article on a man named Coillard and how Project Samuel has helped him and his family though his employment on the project.  Let me take just a moment and tell you of someone else whose life has been changed here in Kapopo village by working at the project.  His name is Jackson, and since he has been employed by Project Samuel, he has been able to get married to Marglet, rent a house, and start a family.  In the last month Jackson and his wife have become the proud parents of a baby girl, Temwani, which means “happiness”.

You see, before Jackson came to Project Samuel, he had no steady job, no housing of his own, and no family.  The steady employment that Project Samuel has given Jackson has enabled him to do these things.  Jackson hopes to be one of our first students in the Adult Training Program at Project Samuel when the time comes to start that program.  Until then, he is attending Bible Study and working hard to make Project Samuel a reality.

Project Samuel is all about ministering to the complete person.   Whether it is spiritually through a Bible Study or Ministry Training, or if physically through a steady income to feed and support their family, we can change lives.   Jesus said, “If you do it unto the least of these, you have done it unto me.” My prayer is, “that the least of these not be the last.  Lord, empower Project Samuel to continue its work here in Kapopo and around the world.”

I encourage all those who are interested to get involved with Relationships for Christ and Project Samuel and help us help others.  Everyone has something they can use to help grow the Kingdom of God.  Thanks to all of you who have made this ministry possible, we couldn’t do it without you!
