Today was my first day back home in Bogota. After being in the amazing Texas heat for a few weeks it was such a blessing to be back in this beautiful city. I was in Texas nearly the entire month of June for an ESL certification class. I have now completed the 60 hour classroom training and am working hard to complete the optional 40 hour online class. The goal is to equip myself to teach English as a second language courses. The material of the class was everything from games to help young children to teaching methods that work and don't work. Over all it was informational and will be extremely beneficial to the project we are working especially hard at.
It is our desire to create a Christian based ESL curriculum. The object of this curriculum is to minister to children and adults while also allowing them to learn English. A course like this doesn't exist but once we have it in our hands it will be valuable here in Colombia and in Nicaragua as well! I am very excited to be back and begin teaching basic English skill as we are working on the curriculum and I pray the children will enjoy them and take this incredibly valuable skill here in Colombia with them throughout their lives.
I also want to share with all of you the exciting things going on in my personal life as well! I am recently engaged to a beautiful woman of God, Amanda Glazner. After much prayer we have decided to become a team out on the front lines! After the wedding, Amanda will join me in serving our Lord from where ever He calls us to. We are both very excited that He will use us together to glorify His Kingdom!
I want to thank each and every one of you because without your prayers and financial support I wouldn't be able to serve these children daily. As you know, I like so many other missionaries, depend very much on the monthly partners that make it possible for us to go and do what God has called us to do. In fact, many of you will be receiving a partnership appeal in the mail soon. Please be in prayer about partnering with Road To Bogota through Relationships For Christ Ministries. Without your regular support the work that God has called me to do might simply go undone.
Your kindness and obedience to the Lord allows me and the other missionaries of RFC to serve on the front lines and live out our callings as we follow the Lord where ever He may lead us! I thank God for you each and every day and pray that you will always be blessed.
